One of the major sources of Chicago's college baseball placements is the Chicago Amateur City Elite (ACE) program sponsored by Chicago White Sox Charities. They have developed and helped place (and find scholarships for) both HBCU and non-HBCU college ballplayers. Probably the most recognized former ACE is Corey Ray who was a first round pick in the 2016 MLB draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.
I think that Alcorn had a couple players on last years team from that league. Middle Infielder, Bo Fletcher transferred to Grambling as a Grad Student is from that organization for sure and OF Will Thomas may be.
